Professional Figure Skating Coach | STARSkate Coordinator

Valerie brings over 35 years of coaching experience with Skate Canada, specializing in CanSkate, STARSkate, Power Skating, and Private Lessons across all disciplines. She is a Nationally Trained & Certified NCCP Coach, a Provincial Synchro Coach, and a Qualified Skills & STAR 1–5 Assessor.

Valerie is dedicated to fostering a positive, fun, and skill-focused environment for skaters of all levels. In addition to her coaching, she is a Registered Nurse, First Aid/CPR certified, and fully trained in Rowan’s Law, Respect in Sport, and the Skate Canada Code of Ethics.

Beyond her coaching career, Valerie skated professionally with Holiday on Ice (USA & European Tours) and performed as a CFL Cheerleader for the Toronto Argonauts.

CanSkate & STARSkate Coach

Sara brings over 30 years of coaching experience to the South Dumfries Figure Skating Club, specializing in both CanSkate and STARSkate programs. She began her skating journey right here at SDFSC and is thrilled to return to the club where her coaching career first began.

Alongside coaching, Sara works as an Educational Assistant with the Grand Erie District School Board and has three decades of experience supporting children and adults with special needs through various organizations in Brantford.

She has achieved her Gold levels in Dance, Skills, and Interpretive and is passionate about helping skaters grow in both skill and confidence.
